STUDENT-ATHLETE PERFORMANCE CENTER
Construction Cost$11.7 M
This project significantly upgrades and expands the Bowman Room in the Jamerson Athletic Center to create a new Student-Athlete Performance Center. The renovation augments the facility program through the addition of a main dining space with indoor and outdoor seating plus patio area. Additional key features include commercial-grade kitchen, new offices, toilets, storage area, changing rooms, new service elevator, and mechanical/electrical support. Construction on the fourth-floor creates a bright, airy, expansive view of the stadium and surrounding area with the addition of cantilevered balconies. A renovated connector between the center and Cassell Coliseum provides easy access to both facilities. This dramatic space is primarily for student-athlete meals, however it is also utilized for scheduled group functions.
Infrastructure design by Stanford White includes wet-pipe fire sprinkler, dry pipe on open balcony/terrace areas, domestic and sanitary waste system design, roof drainage, natural gas piping, air handling and heat transfer systems, HVAC controls design including new rooftop units, and interior power and lighting, and electrical distribution.
