The new parking deck adjacent to the baseball stadium is the first one constructed on WCU’s campus. This 3-level structure with 3 elevator/stair towers supports 896 parking spaces and is located on Hennon Stadium’s former parking lot, maximizing the use of existing campus infrastructure while accommodating growth. The building is designed with minimal changes to the surrounding roads and includes CCTV security, LED lighting, and emergency phone system as some of its key features.
Stanford White’s engineered systems include fire alarm system with manual pull stations, elevator control, “intelligent” smoke detectors, and both audible and visible alarm signals. Plumbing design incorporates drainage piping, sump pumps, and hose bibs on multiple levels. Electrical and lighting consists of interior power and lighting, exterior site lighting, and a new building power system. Data services design includes cabling/cameras for parking deck CCTV security, and interior and exterior emergency telephones. Ductless HVAC is utilized for the telecommunications room.
