Health Sciences Building
Mitchell Community College
Construction Cost$ 10 M
This new clinical training facility is designed to consolidate all of the college’s health science programs into a single location. Constructed on the former Davis Hospital site, the building incorporates a two-story glass-front lobby and provides program spaces such as simulation, medical, and pediatric skills lab for hands-on training. Flex lab space, classrooms, conference rooms, work rooms, EMT training area, and offices are also included. The additional teaching and lab space created by this modern facility allows the campus nursing program to increase the number of students it can serve.
Infrastructure design by Stanford White includes many features to support a medical training facility such as simulation lab utilities and lab gas. Building power, lighting, and special electrical systems also provided. Energy efficiency is achieved through features such as condensing boilers for heating and LED lighting controlled by occupancy sensors. (In Construction)
