Gateway Residence Hall is a two-building, mixed-use residential housing complex designed to house several Living and Learning Communities such as Honors, Athletics, and Music. Demolition of existing 1960’s-era Belk Residence Hall is included as part of the project. The complex consists of community areas on the lower floors with recreation plaza, private courtyards, ballroom, catering kitchen, student services area, and offices. Upper floors serve as traditional and suite-style residences, plus staff apartments. A large pedestrian plaza lies between the two residence hall buildings and serves as a gateway between the stadium and the College Hill housing neighborhood. Stanford White engineering services include complete and overall MEP design, site utility upgrades, plus demolition scope for plumbing, HVAC, and electrical utilities. Project is LEED Certified.
