CHIDLEY NORTH RESIDENCE HALL
NC Central University
Begun as a master plan for the 124,000 SF quad shaped residence hall constructed in 1949 and 1964 respectively, this project ultimately replaced the 1964 portion of Chidley with a new 130,000 SF, three-story facility. The new residence hall occupies the northeast corner of campus, fronting Alston Avenue and Lawson Street, thus serving as a beacon of the university. Living quarters include residence rooms, suites and apartments for 528 students. Featured spaces include study lounges, meeting rooms, computer lab and offices.
Stanford White engineered a full complement of plumbing, fire protection, HVAC and electrical services. LEED Silver certification was acheived.
