The new Health & Human Sciences Building is the first building on the new 344 acre Millennium Campus.  This multi-level structure was built on the side of a mountain.  While picturesque, it was a challenge to construct.  Departments utilizing this facility are Nursing, Health Sciences, Clinical Lab Sciences, Environmental Health, Health Information Administration, Nutrition, Emergency Medical Care, Recreation Therapy, Physical Therapy, Social Work and Communication Sciences.  The program focus of this science building is healthcare classrooms, simulated medical/hospital spaces, laboratories and offices.  Specialized spaces include an operating room, blood bank, cadaver laboratory, audiology suite, fitness center, natatorium, distance learning studio, campus data center, tier seated lecture rooms, and numerous types of healthcare, science and teaching laboratories.  Regarding sustainable design, a goal of LEED Silver certification has been set for this facility.  Dual electrical services installed along with a 275kW emergency/standby generator.  A central boiler and chiller plant is also incorporated to serve future Millennium Campus facilities.
