This new classroom and office facility is the fourth building on the 132 acre Northern Wake Campus of Wake Technical Community College.  Building D houses drama, art and physics classrooms, as well as dedicated spaces for distance learning, computer lab, bookstore, cafe and staff offices.  The building achieved LEED Gold certification.

Plumbing design includes sets of group toilets as well as complimentary fixtures for wet-teaching functions such as art.  Fire protection design includes an ordinary hazard wet-pipe system and an addressable fire alarm system.  HVAC systems include DDC controls, 4 building air handling units, 79 VAV terminals and expansion of the separate central energy plant (new chiller, cooling tower, boilers and pumps).  Electrical systems include pedestrian site lighting, building lightning protection, standby generator system, category 6 telecommunications infrastructure, smart classroom infrastructure and daylighting controls.
